Your post about the store called “Big DVD” reminds me of a second-hand book store chain in Japan called “Book Off” (which I always thought was humorous because it sounded almost profane). I agree. In theory, it’s a nice way to respond, but when you’re trying to navigate a new culture, it makes it difficult to really understand what’s going on around you.
