Florida in May.  Hot, humid, muggy… just what the doctor ordered.  Last week I went to Boca Raton and Vero Beach to visit family and enjoy some sunshine.  When people think of Boca, they usually think of retirement communities and golf courses.  The south Florida I remember as a child, and that my parents grew up in, is much different.  When my grandfather opened the first dental practice there in the 1950s, there wasn’t a major highway or mall in sight!  The visit included all of those things that make it so special – the sound of the waves, the heat, sea turtles, manatees, the boardwalk, bare feet, and beachside bands.
