Happy New Years everyone! We’re back in Portland after a great trip to Europe for the Holidays.

There wasn’t much chance to update the website during the trip, because we didn’t bring a laptop with us this time and tried to be minimally connected.  So, over the next few days, we’ll collect and write our thoughts about each place we visited.

I can definitely say, though, that the highlight for both of us was skiing in Zermatt.  If a more beautiful place exists on earth, I wouldn’t believe it, because this cozy little alpine village is hemmed-in by picturesque peaks, dotted with charming snow-capped chalets and clears the air with a strictly enforced no-car policy. To top it off, it even has a bit of local celebrity — it’s impossible to stop staring at the Matterhorn  as it gracefully looms over the village.
